What is positive response?
Positive response is a closing of the communication loop. It allows each facility owner to communicate to the excavator the status of their one call ticket.
How do I use positive response?
If you are an excavator, you can check the positive responses for your ticket at http://newtina.oups.org/newtinweb/ResponseDisplay.nas, by calling 800-445-3894 or downloading the O.U.P.S. mobile App at your Android or Apple App store. Please be sure to have your O.U.P.S. ticket number handy.
If you are an O.U.P.S. member, and have an existing username and password to post responses, you can visit http://newtina.oups.org. If you are an O.U.P.S. member, and have not registered with us, you have several options for responding to O.U.P.S.’ positive response system, including phone (IVR), internet, or TCP protocol. Contact the O.U.P.S. team at email@example.com for further information.
O.U.P.S. is pleased to offer our members two ticket management software options to help you receive your electronic tickets and to better meet your positive response obligations – WebTMS and KorWeb. Each of these systems, which are offered at no cost to O.U.P.S. members, allow the user to easily manage their workload, automatically provide electronic positive response to O.U.P.S., automatically assign and dispatch tickets to locators and MORE!

What are the response codes that member companies can provide?
001 – NO CONFLICT
002 – MARKED (UP TO PRIVATELY OWNED UTILITY)
003 – TICKET CANCELLED
004 – EXCAVATION REQUEST COULD NOT BE COMPLETED - FACILITY OWNER/LOCATOR WILL CONTACT THE EXCAVATOR DIRECTLY
005 – EXCAVATION REQUEST COULD NOT BE COMPLETED – BAD ADDRESS OR INCORRECT STREET INFORMATION, A NEW TICKET IS REQUESTED
006 – HIGH PROFILE FACILITY – FACILITY/OWNER REQUESTS TO BE PRESENT FOR EXCAVATION
007 – JOINT MEET/LARGE PROJECT – WILL COORDINATE WITH THE EXCAVATOR
008 – DESIGN TICKET – CONTRACTOR WAS NOTIFIED BY THE FACILITY OWNER
009 – WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED UPON ARRIVAL
999 - NO RESPONSE GIVEN WITHIN THE 48 HOURS (DEFAULT CODE)
What if a facility owner owns multiple facility types?
