Is OHIO811 open and can they process my locate request?
YES!!! OHIO811 remains fully operational through both our call center and online services, to receive underground utility locate requests from the excavation community as well as homeowners, and to provide those notices to our member utilities.
Will my locate request get marked?
There has been no change to anyone’s obligations with regards to any requirements under the Ohio Revised Code relating to Underground Damage Prevention. As always, excavators must wait at least 48 hours, excluding weekends and legal holidays before commencing excavation so that utilities can mark their underground facilities. We continue to encourage everyone to exercise the utmost in caution, cooperation and patience as you plan and perform your work.
How can I check the status of my locate request?
OHIO811 strongly encourages Excavators to monitor and check our Positive Response System before beginning any excavation. The Positive Response System allows each member utility to communicate the status of markings for the locate request to the excavator.
